modifications > Eventuri Intake Tape Wrap

Why did I wrap my Eventuri intake with tape?

The Eventuri is one of the best intakes for the GRC. The only issue that I have with it is achieving a proper seal between the front scoop and filter housing. If there is any air gap there, the engine will be sucking in hot air from the engine bay. Not good. I will be installing a larger turbocharger in 1Q2026 and will need ambient temperature air into the Eventuri intake for maximum power.

One of the members on GRCorollaForum.com, NJ GRC, posted a solution [LINK] involving silicone tape that bonds to itself for achieving the proper seal. I purchased the silicone tape at a local home improvement store. The install can be frustrating at times with the tape sticking to itself (like it's supposed to do). Take your time, plan ahead, and try not to pull too much of the clear backing material as you go.

Date Completed:

Materials:

- Nashua Stretch & Seal silicone tape (HomeDepot.com)

Tools:

- Scissors

Notes:

1. No wiring plugs need to be disconnected.
2. Take your time as you go. Peel only an inch or so of the clear backing to prevent the tape from sticking to itself where you don't want it to.
3. Reversible back to original Eventuri intake without silicone tape.
